
DR Swim - Learn to Swim

The first week for lessons is the week commencing Monday 23rd October, the term will run for 8 weeks.
We have a new booking system - you will need to set up an account before you can enrol into a class.
Please note that enrolments for Term 4 have now closed, except for Stage 7,8 and our pre squad.
Term 1, 2024 enrolments will open mid December.

Please read the important information below regarding the learn to swim program:

Located at the indoor 25m Darling Range Sports College Pool (Heated all year to 28')

There is NO public swimming available. Swimmers may only enter the water for their lesson.

Community based program. Admin is operated by volunteers from Guildford and Kalamunda Districts Swimming Club.

Teachers are Austswim certified, with most being former or current swimmers from the club.

We endeavour to answer your queries as quickly as possible, but this will often be after hours once we finish our day jobs.

2023 pricing
​
Stages 1 to 6 - $17.00 per lesson (30 minutes)
Stages 7/8/9 - $22.00 (per lesson (45 minutes)
Adult learn to swim - $18.75 per lesson (30 minutes)
Individual Lessons - $30 per lesson (30 minutes)

Stage 1 to 3 : We accept enrolments for 5 swimmers per class.
Classes are capped at 6 swimmers giving us some flexibility to move swimmers between stages if required.
Stage 4 to 6 : We accept enrolments for 6 swimmers per class.
Classes are capped at 7 swimmers giving us some flexibility to move swimmers between stages if required.
Stage 7 & 8 : Classes may be slightly bigger to prepare for Squad Swimming.
PRE SQUAD - this term we have a new squad program to prepare swimmers for squad. Generally swimmers need to have passed Stage 8.

Programs
The SwimSchool is for school age children 4 years (must be 4yrs) and above. There is a maximum of six swimmers per session in the group courses. Stages range from Stage 1 – Stage 9. All teachers are AUSTSWIM Qualified and have Working with Children Check and current CPR Certification.
Book Online
All bookings need to be completed online. This will reserve your spot and is where payment is made. If you are using a Kidsport Voucher please contact us and we will process the voucher and book for you.


What will we learn?
Our courses are aimed at providing all the skills required to be safe in and around water. When you graduate the final stage you will have attained all the below skills and be ready to move from Learn to Swim, and in to a Squad Program.

Graduation
Once you graduate from DR Swim, the next step in continuing your swimming is to join a squad training program. Squad training will provide you with a continuation of your swimming program, with a focus on technique and speed. You will be able to race against other swimmers at our club meets held at either Darling Range Sports College or Guildford Grammar, and also Swimming WA swimming meets at HBF stadium.

As a reward for all your hard work in achieving the final learn to swim stage, the Guildford and Kalamunda Districts Swimming Club would like to offer you a special New Member offer. Please check with the club for further details.


Conditions of Entry
As we operate from a school venue, we are subject to all relevant government mandates.
​
Any children attending the pool (including siblings) must be under adult supervision at all times, including when outside. No running inside under any circumstance, and no climbing on building structures.
​
No-one is to enter the water unless under the supervision of a DRSwim instructor. Under no circumstances are siblings to enter the water.
